Whether you are new to poker or gone broke, you have to start your bankroll from 0. There are several ways of doing this: hard ways and easy ways.
Without going
into too much detail what poker bankroll is or how to manage it, in this article we'll cover seven ways how to start your bankroll from scratch.
1. Freerolls.
Q: What is freeroll?
A: The term freeroll (free roll) is used to describe a tournament with no entry fee. The prize pool of the freeroll is guaranteed by the poker room.
Freerolls are the most popular and sometimes the most difficult (for new players) way to start bankroll from nothing. This is because usually more than 5000
players participate and only 10-30 places are paid. It will take hours to finish the tournament. If you are considering choosing freerolls as your
bankroll builder, my advice will be: research, research and one more time research! Don't just enter to freeroll with 5000 players, there are a lot of small
rooms with less competition.
I've also wrote an article Winning Freeroll Strategy which I think You will be interested to read.
2. No Deposit Bonuses.
Well, this is far more easier way to add a free money into your account. If you don't know what no deposit bonus is and how it works, check out my previous post
"No Deposit Poker Bonuses & Bonus Codes". You may want to read step by step instructions on how to claim $10 free at PokerTime.

3. Play Money Chips.
Have you ever thought that you can build your bankroll just by playing with play money chips? Nonsense you say? Well, that's a fact. I was surprised when I
first discovered that, but the trick is - there are certain sites, where you can sell your play poker money chips. Just google! The main thing is you need to
have minimum 1.000.000. I once saw someone offered $8 to $10 for 1.000.000 PokerStars play money chips.
Note: PokerStars playchips are most valuable and harder to accumulate.
4. Borrow From Friend.
That works, too! :)) If you have a friend playing at PokerStars, you can ask your friend to transfer a few bucks to your account. Actually,
this was the exact way how I started my bankroll four years ago.
Borrow few bucks, win two more, give him back his $2 and that's it! You have your bankroll :)
5. First Time Deposit Bonuses.
In this case you will need to put your money, but in exchange you will get a free deposit bonus. In order to receive the bonuses you will need to play a certain amount of cash and tournament games to gain the level of points required.
In my poker career I've found PokerStars bonus fairly easy to clear. Check out How to clear PokerStars bonus? for more information.
PokerStars offer - 100% First Deposit Bonus of up to $600.
6. Rakebacks
Q: What is Rakeback?
A: When you play poker for real money the poker rooms take a fee which normally is from 3-5% of each pot. This fee is called the "rake" and while the cost
may seem small, for someone who plays a lot the rake can amount from hundreds all the way up to tens of thousands of dollars per month. It is how the rooms
make their cash and without it they wouldn’t exist.
Affiliates now offer you to get a percentage (usually around 25-35%) of these fees returned to you each month. Trust me, this is a great way to earn some
extra cash.
For rakeback deals we suggest you RakeTheRake
7. Deposit Issues
It may sound funny, but that's how my friend got his first money. He had deposit issues at Everest Poker, so the room gave him free $10. At the end of the
day, he still needed to deposit his own money ;)

Good luck!
